Kayla Korporal, ONP-C spent 11 years as a surgical RN where she developed a love for orthopedics, she returned to the academic institution where she had already earned her bachelor’s degree, Indiana Wesleyan University, and continued her education, earning her Master’s degree there also. Kayla is now a Nurse Practitioner in Orthopedic Surgery.
Kayla’s specialty is Orthopedic Surgery, with comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, from acute injuries to chronic orthopedic issues, while also assisting in each orthopedic surgery.
When asked what drives her in her profession, Kayla stated “With a background in nursing and advanced practice, I bring a holistic approach to patient care, combining clinical experience with an understanding of patient needs. I work closely with individuals to develop a treatment plan that promotes recovery, improves function, and enhances their quality of life”.
Kayla says what she likes most about her practice is that she loves being able to meet patients, develop a plan of care, assist in their surgery, and follow their recovery. “It is great to see their improvements and the increase in their quality of life”.
When she is not working, Kayla loves to spend time with her family and travel. She also enjoys visiting the lake and her father’s motorsports events.
A typical office visit with Kayla would likely include the patient getting X-rays done before the appointment. At the appointment, Kayla will go over the X-ray images, and the different treatment options, and then Kayla and the patient will decide on a plan of care together.
