Personalized Programs for Pulmonary Diseases
The Respiratory Therapy Department at Marion Health is staffed by a team of highly trained and nationally credentialed respiratory therapists. Our professionals bring a high level of education and expertise, allowing us to provide a wide range of respiratory services, including both treatment and diagnostic procedures. Under the direct supervision of physicians, our respiratory therapists adhere to defined therapeutic guidelines to carefully monitor, evaluate, and treat individuals with respiratory and cardio-respiratory disorders. We offer a comprehensive array of respiratory services, including:

- Oxygen Therapy: Provision and monitoring of supplemental oxygen to manage conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
- Chest Physiotherapy: Techniques to help clear mucus from the lungs and improve breathing efficiency, such as postural drainage and chest percussion.
- Diagnostic Testing: Conducting and interpreting tests like arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, 6-minute walk test and home oxygen evaluations to assess respiratory health.
- Ventilator Management: Monitoring and adjusting mechanical ventilation settings for patients requiring long-term or acute respiratory support.
- Non-Invasive Ventilation Management: Overseeing and modifying non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) settings for patients needing long-term or acute respiratory assistance.
- Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care: Care for newborns and children with respiratory issues, including surfactant therapy and CPAP.
