Marion General Hospital Opioid Prescribing Guideline Team Recognized at 2016 Patient Safety Awards

Through the creation of prescribing guidelines and a thorough implementation strategy, the Marion Health Opioid & Other Controlled Substance Prescribing Guideline Team has received recognition across Indiana and in Washington, D.C. as a model for health care organizations leading the charge for patient safety, community safety and community collaboration against prescription drug abuse.

The Marion Health team was among the 2016 Patient Safety Innovation Award Nominees. This award recognizes an individual, group or program that has developed innovative ways to improve, encourage or enhance patient safety within their hospital, health system, regional patient safety coalition or professional organization.

The Indiana Hospital Association celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the Indiana Patient Safety Center and hosted the Indiana Patient Safety Summit.
