Long Service Employees Help MGH Fulfill Life's Ultimate Purpose

It's that time of the year again - time to recognize the hard work and loyalty of Marion Health's long service employees. Who said you can't work for the same organization for 45 years?

We have two fantastic employees who have. Nurses, Carolyn King and Marilyn Pearcy, both started at Marion Health in 1965. To give some perspective, when they began their MGH careers . . .

  • The cost of a new home was $21,500
  • A gallon of regular gas was a mere 31 cents
  • The cost of a dozen eggs was only 53 cents
  • A gallon of milk quenched your thirst for slightly less than one dollar
  • The cost to send a letter to your loved was one nickel

Wow, how times have changed! Marion Health is also privileged to have a multitude of other dedicated employees with 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service that also deserve to be honored. MGH thanks each of you for your many years of service and for the level of care you provide to our Healthcare Community.

You are the "human touch" that provides reassurance and calmness during times of illness and uncertainty. Through your daily actions and interactions, we are able to fulfill life's ultimate purpose - positively impacting the life of another.
