New Chef Just What the Doctor Ordered

Marion Health and its food service partner, Morrison Healthcare Food Services, are excited to welcome new Executive Chef Joseph Brand to the hospital kitchen. Chef Brand is a highly-qualified culinary expert, dedicated to concocting the most delicious, fresh and nutritious meals for the patients of Marion Health.

He brings with him over 20 years of experience in the dining arena, having cooked for Disney property hotels, country clubs and private restaurants.

Chef Brand's immediate goal will be to reinvent the menu at the Marion Health, by adding a variety of healthy, yet fun items to the dining options.

"I believe Chef Brand's wealth of top-notch culinary experience will take the food service at Marion Health to new heights," says Rob Witt, Director of Marion Health's Dietary and Nutritional Services. "Our aim is to transform our dining possibilities and to offer our patients and hospital staff a healthy culinary experience similar to what diners typically find in high-end restaurants."

Chef Brand was educated at the Johnson and Wales University. He will be responsible for training 22 kitchen staff members on the Morrison Core Culinary Standards. Morrison Chefs change the traditional perception of hospital food as bland and boring by using only the best, most natural ingredients and preparing delectable, yet health-conscious recipes.
