MGH Welcomes New Hospitalist
Marion Health is pleased to welcome Gladys Black, ACNP, BC (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified) to its medical staff. Black received her Masters of Science in Nursing (Acute Care Practitioner) from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN.
Black is familiar with Marion Health. Prior to her current role, she spent a total of 15 years working at MGH as a registered nurse; nine years in Critical Care and six years as Coordinator for the Coumadin/Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Clinic before leaving in spring of 2006 to further her education.
“I am really happy to be back at Marion Health,” states Black. “It was difficult to leave after so many years. It’s nice to be back where it feels like home.”
The purpose of the Marion Health Hospitalist Program is to provide MGH patients with increased access to physician and nurse practitioner care during their hospitalization. Hospitalists only see patients in the hospital, which enables them to be more immediately available to treat patients and begin coordinating their care.
The Marion Health Hospitalist Program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Hospitalists stay in close contact with your entire team of caregivers, including your primary care physician, to keep them regularly updated and informed of your overall condition and progress.
Black and her husband of 36 years, Mike, live in Matthews, IN.
